NBRRI TO TIE A STRONG R&D COLLABORATION WITH SETRACO NIG. LTD & RITVALUE

Dr. Taofiq Raimi, President/CEO of RITVALUE Consultants Ltd has said that Research and Development {R&D} has a deep positive impact on driving the growth of the construction sector in a developed country. And this has a great role to play in boosting a country’s economy. He said Public/Private Partnership improves construction within the built environment and create world standard in boosting the economy and upgrading Research and Development (R&D) in the country. He stated this on Tuesday when the team from the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) and RITVALUE Consultants Ltd visited the management of Setraco Nigeria Ltd in Abuja.

Dr. Raimi Taofiq expressed joy and confidence in the outcome of various construction projects undertaken by Setraco in the country.

He stated that Setraco has made a positive landmark by striving hard and achieving successful completion of projects, creating job opportunities in the country, community relationships, and lots more. He further emphasized the fact that the good works of Sectraco have paved the way for a stronger and better working relationship between Setraco and the Nigerian Government and other private sectors in the country.

Arch Tom Umoche, Deputy Director, Consultancy, NBRRI while speaking explained the aim of the collaboration between NBRRI and RITVALUE and the extent to which both organizations had gone in addressing issues concerning construction in general in the country and the achievements attained so far through the collaboration. He appreciated the management of Setraco for granting them audience.

Dr. Raimi added that the visit was to brief Setraco on the level of progress NBRRI and RITVALUE Consultants have achieved through collaboration and to present the next line of action. He presented a 7-point action plan which include: sponsorship and support in research works, having a quarterly special magazine to publicize activities in the construction industries, organizing special monthly Television/Radio programs appearance that will feature top personalities in the construction sector, Organizing training/capacity building for Management and Executives in NBRRI/RITVALUE including overseas training, Capacity building/training for staff and professionals in NBRRI/RITVALUE.

Engr. Jide Goodness who received the team on behalf of the management of Setraco appreciated the team for the visit. He assured that the collaboration between NBRRI and RITVALUE is one that Setraco will never take for granted and promised to convey the message of the visit to the top management which shall lead to a positive response and better collaboration for the economic growth of the country
