The Honourable Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora has inaugurated Governing Board of Raw Materials Research and Development Council.

While performing the ceremony he directed the board to carry out a transformative approach to governance by ensuring that Raw Materials are produced into finished goods to generate revenue for the government.

He admonished the Board to be dutiful to drive industrialization and make meaningful progress in the system, in the interest of the country and to fulfill the trust President, Muhammadu Buhari, for choosing them amongst other qualified Nigerians for the job.

Dr. Adeleke further noted that meaningful progress can only be achieved with peace, unity, and collaboration in any organization and enjoined them to work as a team to achieve the national progressive goal by leveraging their potential and wealth of experiences.

According to Atuora Obed, Deputy Director (Press &PPR) in the ministry, the Honourable Minister warned that the Board should not interfere with the daily administration of the organization, however, should rather make policies that can drive the growth of the Agency.

“I encourage you to work with the “5Cs administrative principles” of collaboration, communication, cooperation, coordination, and cordiality to contribute your quota to the development and growth of this country,” Adeleke said.

The statement also reads that the Minister of State for Science, Technology, and Innovation (FMSTI) Chief Henry Ikoh asserted that Board Members are selected based on track records, especially in line with the progressive agenda of this administration which is moving from resource to knowledge-based economy.

Mr. Ikoh assured them that the ministry would always encourage them and work in harmony with   (RMRDC) for meaningful development.

Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Monilola Udoh also pledged the ministry’s readiness to ensure the  board members succeed in their tasks.

Responding, the Chairman of the Governing Board, Hon. Isa Sadiq Acida, on behalf of members, expressed happiness that the occasion had presented a golden opportunity for the board members to make a mark in the economic development of Nigeria, stating that the Raw Materials, Research and Development Council with its mandate of development and utilization of Nigerian industrial raw materials serve as a spur in bringing about speedy growth and development in the country.

He assured Nigerians that raw materials and development would make a greater impact on the nation’s economy, raise the living standard of Nigerians and improve our balance of payment in International Trade.

“that will be achieved by ensuring that more resources are harnessed to build our industrial and agricultural sectors” he said.
